ok so we had to think, newborns can’t sit up yet so we knew we didn’t want the cheesy baby portrait (sears portrait style) backdrop… we had to go with bright colors & a funky backdrop.  what do ya think?  it works eh?  how cute are these little dudes (and dudettes)?

already we can’t wait for next year’s christmas mini portrait sessions!  if you want in on the action, you had better sign up in like june because we sold out fast!!!  ok, june is a bit exaggerated, you got that right?  ok good.

alex will be doing mini sessions on december 5th so if you have a newborn, this is an absolutely great chance to get some christmas gifts.  mini-sessions are 30 minutes and are just perfect for some adorable, snuggly, cuddle bug portraits.  see you there!!!

i had such an amazing time taking photographs of matt.  for one thing, it is always inspiring for me to watch young musicians trying to make it in the industry. that and also matt is just a super cool guy.  he told me he has been playing trumpet for as long as he can remember.  when we first met matt, tif and i both said he had a look of determination in his eyes.  I meet and see a lot of models/actors/musicians in this crazy business.  some have made it, others try something else but I believe that matt, at only 19 years old, will make it.  his goal: to be a world class trumpet player!

we decided to run around to different locations in oakville shooting photos downtown, in back alley ways which make the best places for photography and of course one of my fav’s – the downtown oakville .  matt really wanted his pictures fresh creative and different.  so he put the lifeimages photographers to the challenge. we normally shoot weddings and portraits but it is nice to switch it up once and a while with the odd headshot or portfolio stuff.

the next couple of photos where taken in a little restaurant in downtown oakville (which by the way had a great lunch martini)!!  all the images where shot with the nikon d3 +  f/1.4 50 mm nikon lens…

i have to admit, there’s nothin’ like a classic black & white maternity photo.  they funny & crazy ones are awesome but a simple belly shot will always help the mom-to-be remember those 9 full months of waiting, wishing, wanting and more waiting!!!

oh sweet pea, I love these next photos of little mya doing her thang.  when does a kid ever get permission to stick her tongue out and be silly?!?!?!  my absolute favorite is the last one in the third row down.  found it?  now, don’t you just remember belting out a huge laugh like that when you were a kid?  oh man, my sister and i used to just roll we thought we were the funniest things ever.  ahhh, the laughs when you grab your belly and throw your head back.  i love it.  when is the last time you laughed so hard it hurt?

i need more of those, don’t you?

alex used to be a skaterboy himself way back in the day.  at 15 years old that’s when i had a huge crush on him in his baggy jeans and scruffy hair.  ok, so i still have a crush on that same guy – mushy… so anyway, back to elijah’s photos…

he only asked that he looks like a pro skater, like in the magazines.  watch out tony hawk, cause here comes ‘lil elijah.

alex loves shooting with natural light and at a wedding that is great but for this, he wanted a bit of a cutting edge look so an off camera flash worked perfectly. he used his nikon d3 + sb 900’s + f/2.8 17-55mm lens.  this next one was a f/2.8 10.5mm fisheye lens – one of alex’s fav’s!

it was cute, eliajh asked us if we posted him on our blog if he would be famous!?!  i guess in a small way yes as i am happy to tell you we are hitting 10,000 unique visitors a month!  it’s not only our toronto buddies either, we are getting hits from around the globe.  thanks to all of you for reading this crazy blog and taking an interest in our company and in our lives.  you rock & we are honored!

over easter we all just hung out together and stayed in our pj’s all saturday.  we watched cartoons and ate popcorn and just relaxed.  i love those kinds of days without a care in the world.  these photos were taken saturday morning when jomei got up.  yep, as happy as he is going to bed, he’s just as happy waking up.  seriously, he wakes up smiling.  oh how much joy he brings to my life, i am so so sooooooo blessed.

i love the last one.  that’s my sweet jomjom.

ps, see his denim wall?!?!?!  cool eh?  i worked on that forever.  it’s a cool technique from ralph lauren paints.  the boys love it and call it the “jeans room”.  i am going to paint bit jean pockets on it with their names on it.  don’t wory, i’ll post a photo of it when i’m done.  it’s gonna look sweet.
