almost every couple that comes in asks us how we got started and why in the world we wanted to be wedding photographers! so here you go… the full story:
alex and i will be married 8 years this october. wow. sounds crazy! we have now officially known eachother half our lives. we met when we were 15, yep do the math… i turned 30 this year! holy cow, how wierd that sounds to me. but anyway, in our second year of marriage we quit our jobs and went travelling around the world for 8 months. seriously, we bought an around the world ticket, threw on our backpacks and went to a million different places. we went trekking in nepal, rode waves in australia, bartered in india, lived in a hippy van in new zealand for 5 weeks, suntanned in thailand, ate cheese in switzerland and wine in italy, and so so so so soooooo many more cool experiences that even just writing about it makes me want to do it all over again x10!!!
anyway on that life changing journey, we both discovered we would love to take photographs for a living. so we did the only thing that felt natural, opened lifeimages and as they say, the rest is history. we get to photograph people on their very happiest day. how can we ever wish for anything else? being around happiness, makes us happy!
no, we never actually went to school for photography, it grew out of a passion to document life’s experiences. of course each year we upgrade our skills but having only film cameras on our trip, forced us to do everything manually and really gave us the hands on knowledge we needed to master our craft.
so there you have it. the short version of a long story and the beginnings of a company called lifeimages!
