from our family to yours… happy family day!  yes, here in canada we actually have a holiday to celebrate family.  how great is that?  so today i thought i would post a short clip of our two beautiful kids, playing outside in our backyard.  simple, but so precious – they look so happy!  just a little bit of snow and they were all smiles (this winter we have had almost no snow at all)!

alex flew out to haiti this morning.  we miss him already but i am so happy that he is a person of character and decided to help people instead of sitting back and just thinking about doing it.  alex, if you see this from haiti, just know we are thinking about you – and praying for you.  tell all the kids in haiti that jomei “hopes they feel better soon”.  your little family back home is proud of you babe!

a little piece of home…

ps – the song “feels like home” was alex and my first dance at our wedding eight years ago.  i still love listening to it (and admittedly no matter where we are when the song comes on we usually dance – i know, totally hopeless romantics).  anyway, for the first time when i was listening to the words, it not only perfectly sums up how alex and i feel about eachother, but now that we have the boys, how we feel about them too.  some of the words are so specific to how kids change your life and you never thought you could love anything so much!

feels like home by chantal kreviazuk

“if you knew how lovely my life has been

and how long i’ve been so alone.

if you knew how i wanted someone to come along

and change my life the way you’ve done.

it feels like home to me.”
