a prelude to this post: get ready for the bride that never stops smiling!!!!
i met laura & jamie last year when they came into the studio for the “get to know you” stuff. by the end of our little meeting, i knew laura & jamie were not going to be a “normal” wedding. first off, my cheeks were hurting from laughing so much. just little dry humor comment from the apparently quiet groom – who turned out not to be so quiet at all – made laura roar with laughter which in turn made me laugh, hense the sore cheeks. so right then i knew these guys were going to be so much fun to photograph.
as we got to know these two amazing people more and more, we found they had created this wonderful life for themselves surrounded by amazing friends and families that couldn’t be happier about the two of them meeting, falling in love and finally getting married. they are best friends to the max who really do think the other is just the best, most funniest person ever. i love love love that. i think it is so cool that they fit so perfectly.
side note: i hear people all the time ask “well how do you know who you are going to marry is the one you are supposed to marry? well these two are like fric & frac. like hand in glove. like fries and ketchup. they simply go together. they were made for eachother and as you will see in their wedding photos, a beautiful day unfolded with close friends and a beautiful venue to celebrate this amazing union.
i present to you the wedding of laura & jamie…
alex took these by the way. in case you were wondering what i was doing in the guys washroom! =) and what groom doesn’t wear striped boxers on his wedding day??? ha ha ha ha ha!

wooo hoooo! jamie you sly dawg. looking hot! isn’t his “pinstriped suit” cool???
the radisson hotel on the lake in toronto was wicked for shooting. lots of cool little knooks with textured walls and (as you see below) funky modern furniture!
jamie’s dudes were, to say the very least, really great guys and sooooo fun to shoot. really ready to have a good time, they all hopped in front of the lens for a shot…

and now for the girls. with 5 flower girls and a tonne of bridesmaids getting ready all at the same time, the bridal suite was a hustle and bustle of excitement. scroll down to see the absolute cutest flower girls in wedding history…
and here she is, the fabulous laura…
don’t you love this shot??? laura looks stunning! such a classy bride in her 1963 silver cloud rolls royce.

after having to sit through the ceremony, the flower girls were happy to be able to run free for a moment. the music garden in harbourfront was perfect. we had to do the family photos really quickly as the sun was setting so quickly!!!

as i said, these two are totally best friend and when they started dating their friends because eachothers friends and now there is a tight knit group of friends that i would be proud to call my friends. (wow, how many times can the word friend be used in one sentence???)
anyway, the venue was archeo in the distillery district and it was perfect. a small quaint spot with amazing wine, amazing food and a warm intimate feel. they didn’t do a sit down dinner, instead it was elegantly laid out stations all over the room where people could enjoy at their leisure. This made for an untraditional ambiance where the bride and groom were free to roam and chit chat with all their guests. pretty cool!

not a dry eye in the room when laura & jamie made their speech. best friends forever (bff’s forever) and just so obvious to everyone how in love they are.

first dance…

alex stole the bride & groom for a photo session in the beautiful distillery district streets. you can’t beat the feel that old brick walls give to photographs.

can’t wait to see more from laura & jamie’s wedding??? check out the upcoming winter issue of today’s bride where the couple will be featured in the ‘wedding gallery pages’!
